About
About Curbwise
Curbwise is an independent cost guide for home exterior work across the United States — driveways, masonry, siding, foundations and curb appeal. We publish plain-English guides on what the work actually costs, what drives the price up or down, and how to hire someone who does good work. No jargon, no sales pitch.
Why we started
Most exterior cost advice online is a national average that ignores your climate, your soil, and your local labor market. A stone patio in New England and one in Central Texas are not the same job or the same price. We built Curbwise to publish realistic, metro-adjusted ranges so homeowners can budget with confidence.
How we price
- Ranges, not promises. Every property is different. We publish installed-cost ranges so you can budget, then tell you to get a written quote.
- Built from recent quotes. Our figures reflect what homeowners across our metros are actually being quoted, adjusted for material and labor costs — not a single national average.
- Kept current. Costs move with materials and labor. We revisit guides and note when each was last reviewed, plus a year-over-year trend.
How we recommend pros
Some guides point readers to a local specialist worth contacting in that metro. We are a guide, not a contractor — we don’t sell leads, take a cut, or route you to the highest bidder, and we don’t quote or carry out work ourselves. Always get more than one written quote and check that any work needing a permit is properly pulled.
A note on accuracy
We take care to be accurate, but prices and codes change and every property is different. Nothing here is a substitute for a licensed pro’s assessment of your specific job. Spotted something out of date? Tell us on our contact page.
